Cleanliness in Thailand

I heard many times about the chinese people is very dirty, and actually i´ve lived and however
i am not in China here in Thailand have some similarities.

First of all, the cleaning standards are diferents here, what mean that? Is simple, the dirtness for a Spanish person surely here is not so much. I´m going to write about cleanliness in the streets, public places because anybody is different in his own home also i have to say i didn´t knew anybody as my mum so, my point of view could be special, otherwise I know my mum is not the standard cleanliness in hole world but also i am not my mum.

When I walk for the streets of Udon Thani sometimes i think, stinks, and is not just my thinking, really stinks, in some points of the city, sewers surely don´t have the most drainage perfectly system because here nobody care about that things, or look like that, maybe that smell is because the hotness at the day time, 8 hours by day, really i could imagine that same smell in my city if the weather was as here.

I show you a example about the cleanliness in the home, tu have some garbage in your home, and in front you have some container for throw in, obviously here don´t exist recycling, forget about that, here garbage is garbage, the only one exception is about the plastic bottles, in many places you will find a different plastic bag and that is because can sell. Then try to imagine that garbage outdoor with the sun on, let that a few hours and there you have a stink following you around whatever you go, because the garbage is in the front of the houses so is difficult evade that smell. I have to say too, tha garbage in the morning have dissapeared, but the smell still there, dirtyness? Every one of you have to judge that, for example sometimes when i come to the mall, i see a siluete, and is only that, a siluete, a different color glued in the ground and every day i think the same, that is a rat or better say, that was a rat, have a lot of that siluetes around all the city, actually i think that could be in all the country, so, that service for clean the streets doesn´t exist yet.

Explained that point, now i will talk about indoor, well, look like a if the clean is outdoor where the governemt could do is where we can find the dirtyness easily but otherwise if that bathroom is part of a private property then that situation change, here the people clean, and clean a lot. I can say the mall bathrooms are the most clean i saw in all my whole life, down can see what i am talking about, in restaurants is exactly the same, actually one of that person you see in the staff the only job have to do is take care of the restrooms, almost i forget, in the bathrooms normally have some liquid disinfectant for clean the toilet before you seat down.

Can eat inside the restrooms, awesome.!!

In the simplicity is the happiness

Every day when i am leaving my appartment and i talk with housekeeper I know that, in the simplicity is the happiness. Thailand is exciting for many different things pero never will be for what the people have, unlike another countries Thailand is rendered to the nature, the animals, por that here exist yet paradisiacal beaches and is not for the modernism is just because they respect the nature, they know very good about this earth is the only one we have and they don´t have in them plans destroy for build more buildings, parkings, malls.

Maybe they build anyway that hotel but may not touch the trees around, that things do of Thailand a very singular place, unique.

Is for all this things when i see my housekeeper every morning I realize how much different we are, she have appartments, two floors, like a 20 appartments in total but her, don´t live here, she still living next the appartments, in a simple home, wood home and also she work every day in another else things around that home, yes, i see her and i feel envy.

Yes, envy, if something broke in some appartment she come and fix it, take out the rings and with a smile ask you how are you, she is older than my mum but actually work more, every day wake up at 5 and poured water plants, clean all the parking, check every thing and after that take hundred of kilos of peanuts and take out the skin in a machine for have another extra incomes, that is a job u can do if have the patiente and time, take out the skin of peanuts for sell after to the restaurants, they use a lot this ingredient for cook.

Another example about simplicity and think simple, the security staff in the mall, open the door in each time, him don´t have the same humour same another security staff in any country, him is working in your security but can be kind and gentle too, his work is more near helping than protect, here the people help one each other, that is a simple thinking, humanity first, here have more than necessary, do you want a little bit?

The smile in Thailand

I don´t say nothing new if i say in Thailand the people smile or maybe yes if you don´t know anything about Thailand, Of course i knew that before arrive here, I knew what the people said about but with any thing the people said u have to take some advantage, don´t believe everything you listen.

Just arrived here cannot see that detail about the people because in inmigration process the staff should be tired from smile all day long and actually they don´t.

But when you go outside the airport between taxis and Tuk Tuk is easy see the smiles around you, very easy as going near to someone or just with a fast looking to someone, easy like that. Maybe a violent person can feel uncomfortable with that situation. Actually in many countries look somebody normally become in a fight, showing the worst part of the human person. Fight for defense your dignity, your honour, who know? is a bit funny actually.

In Thailand when have doubts about what that people is talking about the people smile, is a simple fact do this country a very special place, I know is not easy change that thinking, anybody want to hurt you and have to take care yourself doing face like a angry but here that should change.

In a oposite way i can say is difficult know if somebdoy is undertanding you when you talk because always smiles. That food you have in your table is really what you has order? that doubts should be around in your mind but should put out of your mind, don´t have sense, finally a smile is more than one thousand words, for me, that is the real thing about Thailand, that smile make me feel i don´t need understand what are you talking about.

Dogs in Thailand

The thai people eat the dogs?This is a question all of you asked in some moment or maybe afirm along of your live, and the fact is ypur thinking is wrong, but not too much. I explain now.

Have a dog in many cultures as i know is a normal thing, you bought or you adopt and you put inside your home as another member of your family, that is the kind version of the history of the dogs. On the other hand have the another version, people eat dogs same as chicken, if i am not wrong in my thinking in some countries from Africa that fact is completely normal and in some places near Thailand too, for be more specific, Vietnam.

I don´t want to judge why the Vietnam people eat dogs or why in another cities that don´t happen because i think any circumstance is different, any country is different, have places where have pigs like a pet, chickens, etc. is a long list so if somebody eat dog or not is not my business but i should talk about Thailand.

Thailand is a mid term, what means that? Mean the people don´t bring at home same as European people but don´t eat it too, the normal thing is the dogs are in the streets but without home, just stay in front of street food market or in front of some house, without chains and nobody take care of them.

Is easy to see the people don´t care of them, just sometimes can see how the people do, just if is expensive dog or not, dogs racism? Also the government not do nothing about that topic too, so, just they are like a part of the street, same as birds, free like a wind.

In my opinion like a lover of the dogs my hearth broke when i see some dog scractching himself while one hour because have something in his skin, who knows what kind of skin sickness, otherwise the thai people don´t pay any attention about that, is just that, part of the ¨atrezzo¨ of the street, same one streetlight, that don´t mean they treat the dogs bad just they do in that way, god or bad is in that way in Thailand.

Thailand women and North American men

Longtime ago i wanted to write about this because is impossible one day arrive to the end and don´t see this kinds of couple, and this surprises me every day, I don´t talk about a normal couple, actually i see too, I am talking about American man with Thailand lady.

That kind of couple is the most normal kind, I remember just when i arrived here well actually i am lying, in the Stockholm airport i saw this rare and normal fact in Thailand, I don´t want to lie but in the airplane with almost 400 people, 30% of the person was american, the other 30 % was thailand person and the 40% left was different kinds of people from Europe.

Just arrived to Bangkok between subway and taxi i didn´t realize about it, but in the moment i get off the bus i saw the real thing. From every 10 couples with foreigner men, 9 are american, for talk more clear as possible, is very strange look foreigner female here and obviously the couple thai man with foreigner lady, well, i didn´t watch yet, after 9 months. Whatever, i don´t know for what reason the american jubiled men como here for live and obviously they come for marriage, or just share with a thailand lady, but not any lady, normally very ypung, If u compares can see easy old men up 60 years old with ladys with 20 or 30 years old. 

Is a very high contrast and not only for the ages also the thai lady is small and the american are tall, lady is thin and the american is thick, because normally they are here without work, is normal they get fat.

This situation very strange for me here is the most normal thing, the people don´t see nothing strange is that, i could thing that happen longtime ago, that could explain why nobody take care about that. 

The thailand woman look like a like that kind of man with regular incomes, don´t care very much about how the men look, is a bit diiferente than all around the world where the ladies take care very much about the outside of the men. And don´t care about the age too, look like a not important for them. 

The language is another important handycap, here the english is the second language, many people can´t talk english but normally can undertand you but the language is not the topic here. Anyway, the love is in that way here or that we in a romanticist way we say.

The feet, just for walk in Thailand

In some moment you should bother somebody in Thailand and in this case for a very rare reason, maybe you are asking yourself what i am talking about.

The thailand person normally should understand I don´t know many things about the culture and tradition, and normally they know this about the foreigner people in a 95% but in this case, you are wrong.

This talking is about your feet, for the thailand person the feet is the most low thing in a person and not only in the real way, no, is not about the high or the short in a body, for them that strange thinking is literal and simbolic, twice. I supose in some translate in some book or maybe in some speech some body take it this thinking and since that moment nobody thought about if that thinking is smart or not. Just that thinking has become in a respect act. 

Cannot use your feet for put your finger in somebody, cannot use the feet for open the door, don´t care if you get 4 bags from the supermarket. 

So, before you do something with the feet think about who can feel bad or insulted because you use your feet for something else is not walk, yes, is rare and actually don´t have many sense, but here in Thailand you should use your feet just for walk. 

Just some detail more, is interesting how the feet is the more low thing in a human person but they eat the feelt of the chicken, pork, etc. 

And another interesting detail is, anybody show that lowest part always, normally the opened shoes are the usual here.

I see contradictions here, and this is one of those. Whatever.

Please, take off your shoes when entering, in Thailand

Talking about this topic or about other i should remember you i am spanish and the asiatic tradition are really opposite to my own traditions.

Take off the shoes when entering in somewhere is a normal way here, in Thailand, but you should know about when u should do, for example in a restaurant will not normally but if you go home or room of one of your friends you must take off the shoes entering.

More also if you are going the laws home, for cruise that sacred door you will take off, although with the weather here, really hot will not be a problem for you take off all the clothes you can.

You would know if you are wearing socks is not necessary take off too, just the shoes. Only if that shoes touched the floor before you must take off, If we think about that, sume many mums around the world wanted this same way for her own homes, I mean about the child with dirty shoes when they come from the park or just come to play some sport outdoor. For don´t talk about maybe u has trodden some excrement, if you left the shoes outside that terrible smell will not follow u everywhere.

So, summarizing, If the place where u are entering is one place where the people sleep normally u must take off but if opposite situation you go some business, normally u should not, whatever open your mind because maybe u could find some exceptions. And yes, u are thinking maybe somebody can rob your shoes if you left outside that home you go, just don´t worry, nobody will rob your shoes in Thailand.
